I got the BEST THINGS EVER :D
I got my crafty package from Fraggierocks this week for Meridians B Movie swap.  Best themed swap ever and I got amazing stuff :D
I've nicked the photo's that fraggie took because it's too dull here and I'm exhausted after another hellish week at work!

I like this song...even though I think I really really shouldn't.

Catch up!

I just realised that all my entries over the last while have been 'friends only' or 'private'...must mean I've been moaning my arse off.  I promise I really have been enjoying life outside of crummy day job rants though.
Here's the proof!...

Garden Swap! ♥

So I'm about 4 days late posting this but the sun was shining!

The Garden Swap hosted by Pennydog finished over the weekend and this is what I got from Ali Craft Matters.

Photo taken by Woolies (SpoiltCat)

She made the bag which I LOVE, it's so detailed and the colours are lovely....really like the handles too!  The flower choker I'm wearing was actually used to wrap the package up but it's so pretty I had to find a good use for it :)  AND the "top" I'm wearing in the photo is actually made from the fabric Ali sent me.  I'm not sure if I can really call it a top though or even say that I 'made' it because it's just wrapped round and tied in a knot at the back - I suck much at sewing, knots are all I have!  Purple is my favourite colour though and this helps build up the polka dot collection in my wardrobe ♥

I also got some delicious Green & Blacks chocolate which you can see in my belly if you have x-ray vision, a little oriental charm bracelet(which I forgot to show off in the photo) and some lovely little beads in blues and purples.

•You can see and read about what I made and sent to Ali on her blog HERE.
•There's a group on Flickr too with lots of photo's of all the things people made each other :)

I think I could become very addicted to swaps. I've only participated in two so far but have gotten the most amazing stuff and it's a really good incentive to try new things.
There's a B-Movie swap being hosted at the moment which I really really want to do, I fear that I'd scare my swap partner with blood and guts jewellery though, hrmmmm.

Excitements!

 Challenges, challenges...

I just realised about 5minutes ago just how much I've bitten off for the month of May!  Mostly good, fun and exciting things but we'll see how I cope.  I usually work better under a bit of pressure when there isn't time for me to get lazy.

Cut for length and to save those who do not want to be bored to death by my tedious dribblings. Exciting stuff though :) )

Jewellery stuffs!

Lots of ace things have happened this week jewellery wise.  I finally finished a bunch of pendants I started last week and have emailed pictures/prices off to RetroRebels who showed an interest in  my stuffs recently.  Fingers crossed n all but I don't know if I expect to get stocked, I'm still brand new and don't know if I'm quite ready for it yet.  Here's what I made though:

I don't know why that picture is so teeny!  I think it's clickable for the normal version to see more detail...as you can see, I managed to run out of chain coz I used some to finish my own necklaces.
Hrmm...it's not clickable.  See it on Flickr instead.

Also this week, Miss Rachael Bunnylingus spied my stuff, made a custom request and I somehow managed to get away with making her something completely different that she liked even more(so she assures me).
< on the left here is one that's now up in the Folksy shop.

She asked if I could make a similar one with a brighter yellow leopard print and a red bow.  I said yes but I never like things to looks so similar so I urmm made this one >>

I know it's COMPLETELY different but she's a huge chilli's fan so I knew she'd forgive me and I think it suits her LOTS, she got her red bow too which I added to the pink ring after the pic was taken.

(I wasn't all that confident at the time though so I did actually make the original suggestion which'll get added to Etsy if RetroRebels don't bag it by Friday).
What else this week....I had nice dreams about posh jewellery that I'll get started on next week hopefully, I've never done minimalist before but it looked ace in my sleep so I'll give it a go.  I also got the SWEETEST message ever from a happy customer and she left the best feedback over on Etsy too.  It was quite reassuring because I was worried after all the hassle she went through to purchase the thing, what if she didn't like it?!~
Made some sales which is always good and have gotten over my sisters rubbishing comments :)

Work, or lack of it

...is seriously driving me up the wall just now but I'm still being super fussy and trying my best to hold out for something I'll actually not mind. I don't even need to enjoy it, I'd just like to be there for at least a week before wishing I was dead or wishing everyone in the near vicinity would drop dead.  So that rules out bar work and restaurants although that's all my CV says I'm good for.
Have just applied for a couple of sales assistant posts in the local gallery and the maritime museum but the closing date isn't even till the end of the month so it's probably summer temp posts.  I'm thinking sales assistant is the way to go though for full time summer work and potentially staying on part-time/weekends if I get onto a course after summer.  Have an appointment at the college on Wednesday to find out more about courses/suitability/finances before I apply for anything and waste peoples time...if I have the choice I'm swithering between a general Art & Design course or Design & Textiles which would give me more hands on experience with actually making things even though it's not the materials/area I'm interested in. HRMMM...

Have been frittering away time at the beach, all the shows are opened up for Easter - fun fun but a little bit too busy for me and if I keep having no money it's going to get very depressing very quickly!

Today is awesome.  I wrote about [info]blottedcopybook 's  Time for Tea swap before and what I sent out to the lovely Courtney ~ Well, today I got my package through the door from herI LOVE presents :)

I got two amazing teas ~ hadn't tried the Yogi cinammon before but it's delicious and apparently an appetite suppressant so win win!  I also got some Green Sencha which it turns out we both love (I sent her some mint sencha).
Strangely enough, as well as swapping similar teas - we've also swapped bags :)  I think I win though. The shopper I got is gorgeous, it's cool as fuck fabric and really well made, means I'll have to start carrying my own shopping though, doubt Ryan will be offering to carry my pretty pink bag haha.

Super impressed with the little notecards she printed too with little teacups and teapots, they're really cute - hopefully you can see all different colours in the photo.
I also got a pretty blue cup holder for making starbucks look extra posh and some yummy ginger biscuits.  I feel pretty spoiled actually, that's a GOOD thing.

You may notice the tank in the background of this picture?  It FINALLY has residents :D:D:D:D
After weeks of waiting for Ryan to stop footering and modifying the tank to extremes and then getting over the disappointing thought that he'd changed his mind and wasn't getting animals, he went out and bought THREE instead of the two we planned.
I haven't had real pets before (my sister had a hamster and I found a budgie in a graveyard once) so am a little bit nervous, scared I'll break them.  We were a bit naughty and played with them last night when we should have been leaving them to settle in...they seemed pretty excited though and took to us quite easily.  They're a little quieter today and sleeping a lot but I assume that's coz they were up exploring all night - one tunnel has appeared already and toilet roll has been demolished.  Can't get a picture though just now but I shall try in a couple of days when they're more confident.

I heart them lots <3

Oh! I forgot to describe them, one's black and the other two are sort of browny twins - I think we've decided they can just be the three stooges but Mo and Larry are quite difficult to tell apart, Mo has a stripe across his back that we think will disappear with the first sand bath.
